Go to an electrical distributor.  They have this stuff called cantruss or unistrut.  You can buy it in the same dimensions as the utilitrack bars.  It is like a giant mechano set.  You can make anything with it. 

I have a rack big enough for two whitewater canoes.  I just welded some 1.5 in square tubing together and bolted it to the track with some cantruss "spring nuts"  Check this out.  Every frontier owner should have a good supply of cantruss!
