I'm looking to tow a Uhaul trailer from Seattle - Denver. The trailer is
1800lbs empty 4400 maxed out. I'll be using an '06 Frontier 6 spd manual.
I'm trying to figure out roughly what the decrease in gas mileage might be
vs. just my truck. Roughly 1400 miles one-way, hills, flat, etc. If anyone
has an idea where to look for that type of info or knows about what it'd be,
I'd be much obliged.

I towed a U-Haul trailer from Louisiana to Alabama last year. Lost 4 mpg. It was the same going loaded as returning empty. The aero drag appeared to be the difference. My truck is an 06 with the 4L motor and auto. cheers

..

gresebaul;

Right, and welcome to the Frontier group. The weight will cause a lot of extra heat in the whole running gear and engine when climbing grades.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S.

Now the starving people of the world are going to hate America for burning food in our trucks. Can you spell Corn Ethanol?

I have an 05 with AT and V-6 engine.  I was pulling 5000 lbs up and down gentle hills with an occasional b***-buster thrown in.  My gas mileage was 14 MPG, and this is pretty consistent with the few trips that I've taken with it.
